Morning (Math) Riddle/Challenge
A couple weeks ago, we began to solve Sudoku puzzles. If you haven't tried one yet, follow the steps below. If you have, scroll down to find new puzzles. Select at least one of these to try.
Math is about using your brain to solve puzzles. One of the most famous types of puzzles to challenge your mathematical thinking is called a Sudoku puzzle. You may have heard of these before. Your challenge is to watch the video below, learn the techniques, and try to complete the small 4x4 Sudoku. Comment below if you want harder sudokus next week!
Steps

2. Draw your grid on a piece of paper
3. Use your logical skills to solve the puzzle(s) I posted below the video
4. Scroll down for harder, 6x6 puzzles if you want an extra challenge. You play this the exact same way, there are just more spaces to figure out.

Rock (or other object) Balancing
Today, your goal is to make a structure that is balanced. What do I mean by that? Well, balance means to be still/steady. When forces are equally distributed, there will be no movement because there is balance. Using this principle, I'd like you to create some sort of structure. In the perfect world, you would be able to find materials outside to use like rocks, sticks, logs etc. If you can't go outside, I'm happy for you to use any types of materials you can find indoors. Follow the steps written below.
1. Watch the video below for inspiration.
2. Build a balanced structure that can stand on its own without you touching it.
3. Take a picture of your structure.
4. Answer the following questions with a pen and paper or using an online document:
. How tall was your structure?
. How did you measure it accurately without knocking it over?
. What tool did you use to measure it?
. Describe your building process. What material did you use on the bottom versus the top?
. Lastly - what subject or subjects do you think this was a part of and why?
5. Hand in your document and picture.

You could also make a craft, build something outside, paint, carve... the possibilities are endless!
