Science - Rocks and the Rock Cycle
Last week, we began to learn about the rock cycle. This week, we are going to continue on that path and complete an activity that will help you gain a deeper understanding of the cycle.

Science Challenge!
As you now know, rocks get cycled into many different forms over time. The three main types are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The challenge we're going to take part in today involves using Starbursts to model this system.
Supplies needed
. Starbursts candies
. Ziplock bag
Pot, little glass bowl, stove, water OR microwave
Scissors
Steps
1. Make sure you have your parents permission and supervision when doing this activity.
2. Watch the video posted below and follow the instructions. Instead of using a stovetop, you can microwave your starbursts for a similar effect. Start with ten seconds then add in five or ten second increments until they are all melted.
3. Answer the following questions and hand them in.
